Mechanical Engineer, Oil & Gas industry veteran, Computer Scientist, Finance Manager, Entrepreneur, and Former Nigeria Senate Candidate.
Godswill Nwankwo is the Nigeria Senate candidate for the 2023 election, representing Abia South Senatorial District.
Godswill Nwankwo serves as the President and CEO of an energy-focused private equity and project finance company.
Godswill is an engineer, computer scientist, MBA, oilfield veteran, finance manager, and entrepreneur.
Godswill currently works with his team and affiliates to build and deploy sustainable operational and financial strategies that are geared towards growing value in the short and long term. He has a multi-cultural work background in oil and gas, both overseas and domestic. He had built and successfully run oilfield companies while driving value-added solutions and services to his customers.
Godswill had previously worked for Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes INTEQ and several national and multi-national companies both in Nigeria and overseas.
Godswill has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) from Rivers State University in Nigeria. He also has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science with specialization in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Godswill also acquired a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance with specialization in Private Equity and Investments from the University of Houston CT Bauer College of Business in Houston, Texas.
In his spare time, Godswill is a mentor, judge and consultant to the Houston startup ecosystem – including SURE Program at the University of Houston. He had previously served as the President of the University of Houston MBA students association and co-chair of the college alumni. He was previously the Chairperson of African Union in Houston. He was previously an Advisory Board Member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and board member of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES).
For his continuous selfless service to society, Godswill was awarded congressional commendation by the United States House of Representatives. He was also awarded a certificate of congressional recognition by the United States House of Representatives for his tireless contributions to promoting multicultural collaborations, trade and investment in the community.
